US Water Receives Plant Operations and
Maintenance Excellence Award
Fourth Award for US Water in Two Months
Easton, Penn., July 8 U.S. Water L.L.C., a national provider of water and wastewater management services, and the Easton Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) has been awarded the Plant Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award by the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (WEA).
US Waters fourth award in two months was presented in June for accomplishing the Pennsylvania WEA mission of preserving, protecting and improving the water environment in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In May, US Water received a company-wide Recognition Award by the New Jersey Governors Annual Occupational Safety and Health Awards program, and two US Water facilities received Citations of Merit from the same awards program for finishing the calendar year without any work-related injuries or illnesses.
"US Water is committed to the highest levels of safety and water quality for our employees and the communities we serve," said Mike Belsante, president and CEO of US Water. "These awards recognize the efforts of all of our employees and partners, including the City of Easton plant personnel and City of Easton administration. We are proud to be the recipient of such prestigious, selective awards for our dedication to providing quality water services throughout the country."
The WEA award is the second step in a journey of success for the Easton WPCF. In November 1997, the Easton facility was awarded the 5th Annual Plant Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award from the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Association, enabling Easton to participate in the Pennsylvania WEA state awards. As winners of the WEA state awards, Easton is entitled to enter into the Environmental Protection Agency Regional Awards. Subsequent regional winners can be nominated into the entire EPA/WEA National Awards competition.
