Taunton Engineering Awarded Contract for Bowery Bay Water Pollution Control Plant, NY

 HANSON, MA- August 21—Taunton Engineering Company (TECO) announced today the award of an 11 conveyor sludge handling and control system for water treatment at the expanded Bowery Bay project in Astoria, NY. This selection of TECO by Durr Mechanical resulted from their intensive supplier qualification process that positioned Taunton at the top of the list. "Taunton’s 33 years of experience and know-how in this field and high efficiency design were key to winning this substantial system," comments George Bowen, Taunton’s Vice President of Business Development.

Bowery Bay Plant services the population of Queens Borough of New York City, and is one of several plants schedule for expansion by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Taunton is to complete the detail engineering, fabricate the sludge handling system and control packages, and deliver the system to NY in early 2002.
