Boise -- Community house got a big financial boost Thursday.  United Water Idaho gave the homeless facility $10,000.  Mayor Dave Bieter accepted the donation on behalf of the house.

Representatives for United Water say the money did not come from water customers. "All the contributions are coming from shareholder dollars not any rate paying dollars are used in this contribution," said Gregg Wyatt of United Water Idaho, "it's totally from the shareholders' hearts."

The city assumed temporary oversight of the facility last spring while a new management plan is being developed.  In April, Friends of the Community House, a special projects fund was established.  To date, the Friends fund has collected more than $150,000 in cash and in-kind contributions and pledges.
