John Joyner joins Infrastructure Management Group as Managing Director of Development Corporation, and Vice President of the IMG Group.

John Joyner will lead IMG’s new development affiliate in its mission to provide project development services to private infrastructure owners and operators, technology suppliers, governments and industry.

John JoynerWashington, DC, September 4, 2001: Infrastructure management Group ("IMG") announced today that John E. Joyner has joined the firm as Managing Director of IMG Development Corporation, LLC. Mr. Joyner will be responsible for leading IMGD in its mission to provide planning, development and project financing services to private infrastructure owners and operators, technology suppliers, governments and industry. In addition to heading the Development Company, Mr. Joyner will serve as Vice President of Infrastructure Management Group, Inc., where he will expand the company’s advisory professional services in new market segments including Design-Build- Operate (DBO) projects.

IMG Development Corporation serves as an agent, partner and developer, for public-use infrastructure, including small and mid size water, sewer and power utilities, air cargo and passenger facilities and highway, transit and rail projects. Although the initial focus of the company is in the utility sector, additional resources have recently been added to support project development in the other sectors as well. IMGD is one of four companies in Infrastructure Management Group, including IMG Capital LLC, IMG Technologies Corporation and Infrastructure Management Group Inc.

Mr. Joyner brings to the firm his 20 years of senior management experience in marketing; business development and project management for companies providing municipal infrastructure construction and operating services. His specific experience includes project development, project finance and contract negotiations for water, power and solid waste management projects and municipal privatization programs.  

Prior to joining IMG, Mr. Joyner served as Senior Vice President of United Water, one of largest private water service companies in the world. Mr. Joyner led the development of ground breaking public/private partnerships in the water industry including the Milwaukee sewer utility privatization, the Atlanta water utility privatization and the design-build-operate implementation of the ultra-filtration water plant serving the San Antonio, Texas area.

Prior to his water industry position, Mr. Joyner was Vice President of project development for an independent power producer company active in the US and Asia; he had been President and CEO of Consumat, a manufacturer of waste-to-energy and medical waste-to-energy facilities. Earlier,  Mr. Joyner served as the "hands on" project manager for numerous waste-to-energy projects landfill development projects, medical waste disposal projects and recycling facilities. Mr. Joyner’s early career experiences were as a city planner in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and a conservation planner with the US Department of Agriculture.
